We were all created with a need for meaning, a yearning for purpose. But the “what, where and how” can be confusing, and we often find ourselves stuck in places that keep us from living the abundant life we imagined. On top of that, social media has opened a window into the lives of others, which can make us more focused on what we are missing, rather than where we are meant to go.
God designed a unique, fruitful life for each of us, and a has plan to get us there. This is beautifully illustrated in the Book of Exodus where we see God communicating with the man He selected to lead His chosen people on an unprecedented expedition that had global and eternal significance.
We have much to learn from Moses and the Israelites. As we travel alongside them, we will see that they were much like us. They were brave; they were terrified. They were faithful; they were stiff-necked. They were hoarders; they were generous. They were rebellious; they were obedient. They complained, and they worshiped. They were human — individuals on a journey. And like us, they needed a DIVINE DELIVERER and a GUIDE.
From these ancient pioneers of faith, we will find a PRESENT WORD for every point on life’s journey. Whether you are new believer or a life-long Christ follower, whether you are in a season of doubt, loneliness, or regret, or you are currently living high, you will find practical applications for NOW. Most importantly, you will see that in every stage of life, we are all in need of ONE who knows us intimately and will LEAD us to the place HE prepared — our own individual PROMISED LAND.
On the pages of Exodus, we will get to KNOW and TRUST the TRUE DELIVER. We will behold the ONE who calls Himself I AM. He is there from the start, speaking from a burning bush, in pillars of cloud and fire, on a mountain SO HOLY it is covered in fiery smoke, in a tent, on the face of His servant, in His WORD, in the BLOOD OF THE LAMB, in the TABERNACLE He designed to dwell with the people HE LOVES.
This WORD is for anyone willing to follow where HE leads. He has a journey mapped out for each of us. The travel guide is Jesus; the map is the cross; and we are the tabernacle!
